Craft beer is wildly diverse in flavor. There are many different styles of beer that fill the taplists across Arizona. At Sunup Brewing Company in Phoenix, Arizona, they have all the typical styles you’d expect at a craft brewery. Something we find particularly exciting, though, is their various cask beers. Cask beer is a traditional way of serving a tasty brew, using the carbon dioxide produced from fermentation to naturally carbonate the beer. The process is relatively simple, yet creates a very different experience than a regular old canned or draft beer. Cask beers are typically lower in carbonation and often mixed in with exotic adjuncts. At Sunup Brewing Company they fill their casks with a variety of beer styles and add ingredients from fresh fruit, to coffee beans, and sometimes just some more hops.
